Please read this Policy pertaining to Secure Messages through the Portal:

 

We endeavor to respond to Portal messages within 2 to 3 work days. Portal messages are generally not monitored on the weekends. Please do not use the portal for emergencies. (For true emergencies, call 911. For other urgent situations, you can call (925) 265-2300 option 3 to have Dr. Toups paged with your message.)

 

If your questions are lengthy or involve clinical decision making, please schedule an appointment or request a brief phone appointment by writing on the portal.

 

There is generally no fee for Portal Messages that can be answered by the Patient Coordinator. We want to be able to give you support for your general questions and clarifications. All Portal messages requiring MD input will incur a minimum $25 basic fee, and clinical issues requiring medical decision-making will be billed for the amount of time needed for chart review and answering. A receipt will be added to your portal when this is necessary.

 

Prescription refills between appointments are $25 ($35 for controlled substances that require an additional verification phone call).  

Note: Questions about new issues, ordering or interpreting lab tests, supplement changes, prescription refills, etc are best addressed during an appointment. Good Medicine cannot be practiced thoughtfully via the Portal. Your cooperation with this is much appreciated!
